On Tuesday, May 23, Three Rivers Community College held its sixty-first Nursing Pinning Ceremony. Hundreds of friends and family gathered to watch their loved ones take the final step in becoming nurses, a select few in the same room and others in nearby classrooms where the ceremony was broadcast live. During the ceremony, 45 nursing students of the Class of Spring 2023 received their nursing pin, marking the completion of their nursing Since 1985, Three Rivers Community College and Dominion Energy, then Millstone PowerStation, have been partnering to power the future of Connecticut. Through a strategic partnership that includes over $218,000 in student scholarship support, we have trained a generation of nuclear technicians together.
This year is no exception as we congratulate Joseph James Cirrito IV on winning the American Technical Education Association 2023 Outstanding Technical Student Award. Welter Library at Three Rivers Community College is proud to present “Exhibition #1” in the new Diversity 365 Gallery. “Exhibition 1” features two-dimensional work from twelve faculty members representing eight colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system. All work explores the themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The only program of its kind in New England, it is considered the best in the nation. Through classroom, laboratory, and simulator instruction, this program educates students in the theories underlying the safe operation of nuclear power generating stations. For The Three Rivers College Foundation is excited to announce that it will give out an additional $250,000 in scholarships and awards for the 2021 Spring Semester to assist current Three Rivers Community College students with the many difficulties they are facing due to the Pandemic. Three Rivers Community College is holding a Week-Long Virtual Open House for prospective students of all ages to attend from the safety of their homes. This event is an opportunity to learn more about Three Rivers and the flexible, affordable college education it offers. The Virtual Open House will be held each day from Monday, November 16 through Friday, November 20 from 12:00–1:30 p.m. It is free and open to all, and attendees can join at any time.
The Open House features speakers from a variety of Registration opens on Monday, October 26 for the Winter Session at Three Rivers Community College. The Three Rivers College Foundation’s twenty-seventh annual Scholarship Awards were announced on Monday, May 18, 2020. Generous contributions led to over $425,000 in scholarships awarded to a record-breaking 174 students.

Three Rivers Community College has donated all of its personal protective equipment supplies to Backus Hospital (Hartford Health Care) and L+M Hospital (Yale New Haven Health) to help with the critical shortage of supplies during the Coronavirus outbreak.

The show will run through Tuesday, March 31 in the Gallery at Three Rivers.

Save a Life with American Heart Norwich, Conn. — On Thursday, May 23, Three Rivers Community College held the fifty-third Nursing Pinning Ceremony. During the ceremony, 34 nursing students of the Class of Spring 2019 received their nursing pin, marking the completion of their nursing degree and serving as a symbol of their readiness to be compassionate professional caregivers.
Faculty and administration spoke to the students, admiring the hard work and determination that brought them to this point. Their class advisor, Assistant Norwich, CT ̶ The Three Rivers College Foundation held the twenty-seventh annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 7 at Three Rivers Community College. Generous contributions led to over $410,000 in scholarships awarded to a record-breaking 188 students.
Proud families and friends packed the room during the hour-long ceremony as close to $7,000 was given away per minute! The total scholarships awarded came to just over $410,000, which includes $50,000 in summer scholarships. The majority of the Three Rivers Community College is pleased to announce that its 54th commencement will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 5:00 p.m. Approximately 560 students will be awarded degrees and certificates.
The valedictorian of the class is Michelle Reynolds of Ledyard who is receiving an associate in science degree in Graphic Arts. Reynolds will present the student address and receive the Medallion for Academic Excellence. William Stanley, Vice President of Development and Community Relations for L+M Hospital/Yale Whether in everyday life or in work situations, the ability to recognize life-threatening emergencies and provide high-quality CPR can save someone’s life. These skills and more can be learned in the American Heart Association Basic Life Support course offered at Three Rivers Community College on May 13.

To earn the Bronze Military Friendly® School designation, Three Rivers met thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Norwich, CT – After a multi-year process, Three Rivers has completed an LED lighting upgrade throughout the campus and was awarded $95,018 by Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) through their Lighting Retrofit Program. Chris LaRose, Operations Manager of Norwich Public Utilities, presented the check to Mary Ellen Jukoski, President of Three Rivers Community College.
The cost of the lighting upgrade was $271,480 and, with the NPU’s $95,018 rebate, 35% of the cost was covered. With the new energy efficient Wednesdays, January 30 - May 15, 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Three Norwich, CT – On Friday, December 14, Three Rivers Community College held the fifty-second Nursing Pinning Ceremony. During the ceremony, 27 nursing students of the Class of Fall 2018 received their nursing pin, marking the completion of their nursing degree and serving as a symbol of their readiness to be compassionate professional caregivers.
Faculty and administration spoke to the students, admiring the hard work and determination that brought them to this point. Since gaining a new permanent location in 2017, the use of the pantry has greatly increased and preparations for Thanksgiving are well underway. From its first year, the Full Plate has held Thanksgiving food drives. Space is still available in the non-credit Security Officer Training: Guard Card Certification course that begins Tuesday, October 16. The course is eight-hours long and is required by the state of Connecticut for employment as a security officer. It costs $125 and is held Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 16-25 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Norwich, CT – The Three Rivers College Foundation was recently awarded $2,500 from the Chelsea Groton Foundation to fund a unique workforce training completion program for former Ridley-Lowell students. After the unfortunate closing of Ridley-Lowell this past spring, Three Rivers Community College opened its doors to students to help them complete their training programs.
The Three Rivers College Foundation applied for grant monies through the Chelsea Groton Foundation to support these displaced Norwich, CT – The Three Rives College Foundation will host the 21st Annual Three Rivers College Foundation Golf Classic on the new date of Monday, September 17, 2018. The Golf Classic has raised nearly one million dollars over the past two decades to fund $400,000 in annual student scholarships, books, lab equipment and so much more.

Pharmacy Technician -- This comprehensive 60-hour course prepares students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Norwich, CT – Three Rivers Community College is excited to announce their new Community College Tuition Match Scholarship Agreement with Charter Oak State College. This allows Charter Oak to provide the last two years of a bachelor’s degree to graduates of associate degree programs at Three Rivers for the same cost of tuition and fee rates as Three Rivers. Not including fees, a three-credit course at Charter Oak would cost $894, but with the tuition match scholarship it will cost only $489, the Three Rivers Matt Flery Emphasizes Graduates’ PerseveranceNorwich, CT – Friends and families packed the campus green to cheer on the Three Rivers Community College graduates at the 53rd annual Commencement on May 23. 580 students earned a total of 543 associate degrees and 74 certificates. Eight students earned two degrees, 28 earned both a degree and certificates, and seven students earned a Medallion for Academic Excellence, which is achieved by maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.

Keynote speaker Mary Lenzini, the President and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut, addressed the students telling them that being a nurse is “not just a Norwich, CT – Eighteen Three Rivers Community College students were inducted into Epsilon Pi Tau, an international honor society that recognizes high performing engineering technology students, during two ceremonies, the first held on May 4 at Manchester Community College and the second held on May 9 at Three Rivers.
Epsilon Pi Tau is an academic and professional honor society for technology programs in higher education, workforce development programs, and professionals in practice. Founded in 1929 at Three Rivers Community College is pleased to announce that its 53rd commencement will be held on Wednesday, May 23 at 5:00 p.m. Approximately 550 students will be awarded degrees and certificates.
The valedictorian of the class is Nataliia Romaneko of Niantic, who is receiving an associate in science degree in Computer Science Technology. The salutatorian is Zaha Bush of Salem, who will receive an associate in science degree in General Studies. Generous contributions led to a record-breaking number of scholarships awarded to 212 students. The total sponsorships awarded came to just over $410,000 which includes $50,000 of summer scholarships.
